Pack boxes snugly to prevent damage to your items and to prevent boxes from collapsing when stacked. Pack the heaviest items on the bottom and the lighter items on top. Use plain Newsprint, Packing Peanuts, or Kraft Paper to stuff open areas. |

Pack books and other heavy items in smaller boxes for easy lifting. |

Use wardrobe boxes to store clothing, hang your garments on the rod provided for a quick change over for the next season. |

Dishes and glasses should be wrapped in bubble wrap foam wrap, or pouches and placed in dish pack boxes which are double sided for extra strength and protection. |

Pictures and mirrors should be wrapped in bubble wrap or paper pads, using protective corners and packed in mirror boxes or crates marked "Fragile" and stacked on end not flat. |

Seal boxes completely with sealing tape, paper glued tape or filament tape to keep out dust. |

Label boxes on several sides with list of contents, and number boxes for easy locating. |

Make up an inventory of your stored items and keep it in a safe place at home or in a safe deposit box. |

Plan your storage space. Place those items that you need to get to often in the front. |

Leave a center isle for easy access to all items. |

Leave a small space between the wall and your storage items to allow for ventilation. |

Pack your boxes and other items as close together as possible to avoid moisture accumulating between them. |

Place your stored items on 2"x4" boards or VisQueen to guard against dampness. Any concrete floor may become cold and damp. Use Damp Rid in your unit to help you absorb moisture in the air. |

Protect mattresses and furniture with our paper pads, quilted pads, mattress bags, and furniture covers. |

Store couches on end to maximize space, place a protective cover under the end on the floor. Wrap cushions in plastic and place on top of couch. |

Disassemble tables and shelves, wrap and mark all pieces for easier re-assembly. |

Keep refrigerator and freezer doors slightly ajar and clean before storing. Use space inside for extra storage. |

Drain gas and oil from engines in lawnmowers, tillers, etc. CAUTION: It is against the law to store materials that are hazardous or combustible such as gasoline, solvents, etc. |
